Growing Medical Marijuana Outdoors
For many years, marijuana has been treated as illegal and growing them
can entail serious punishment from the federal government. Today, things
have changed greatly especially when the medical industry has started to accept marijuana’s healing properties. Marijuana can be grown indoors and outdoors.
The plant needs around 8 hours of sunlight and you can plant it
starting late April or early May. Over the years, people have grown
marijuana in the outdoors because the plant thrives in a natural
habitat. There are some things that you need to consider and if you
don’t want to be caught by the law enforcers, growing medical marijuana
should have permission.
When planting
seeds, you can start with a starter box and keep it indoors. When the
seeds start growing, you can now transplant them in the outdoors. If you
don’t want to do some transplanting, you can plant the seeds directly
on the ideal spot. Dig out the soil and add hydrated lime. Also, water
the soil and leave the seeds for a week. Plant the marijuana around 3ft
apart because if you plant them too near each other, the plants will
tend to exhibit stunted growth. As the plants grow, you will need to
water them regularly but don’t overdo it. You can also plant hops or
corns together with the marijuana if you want but not with spinach or
rye.
Grow Medical Marijuana at Your Home
Growing medical marijuana indoors has advantages. The marijuana will
have more resin as compared to the ones grown outdoors but the plant is
weaker, so you need to tie it to a post. For every plant, you will need a
cubic foot of soil. The marijuana needs 8 hours of sunlight but you can
also use artificial lighting. You can interrupt the darkness of the
night by providing at least 1 hour of light.
Choose a growing room for the medical marijuana. The room should be
painted in white or you can cover the walls with aluminum so that light
can be reflected. You can use fluorescent or bulbs around 75 watts.
Avoid using the cool white type of bulbs. You can also put racks inside
the growing room. Medical marijuana is permitted in some states although
in some places, its use is still highly regulated. You can use the
internet to gather enough information about marijuana and if it’s legal
to grow the plant in your garden or in the indoors. If the doctor
prescribes you with medical marijuana, you might as well grow your own.
